Permeable Holland Herringbone Pavers, Community Chess Board, Holiday Tree Ring
In the growing city of Federal Way Washington, a new park has emerged as a relaxing family space nestled between a busy transit center and shopping using permeable Holland. Town Square Park opened in July of 2016 to serve the surrounding community with a family friendly destination to relax for both kids and dogs. Featuring a lush green lawn area plus a splash park for the kids and a permeable paver plaza suitable to host entertainment, Town Square Park packs a surprising amount of relaxation space into a small city lot.
The park features multiple Mutual Materials products, including a permeable paver plaza made with Mutual Materials Permeable Holland pavers in Harvest Blend color, framed by lines of Mutual Materials Clay Pavers in the color Mauna Loa. Mutual Materials produced 10,000 square feet of pavers for this environmentally friendly project. In addition, the community chessboard build near the splash park was built using 18×18″ square Vancouver Bay Slabs using the colors Latte and charcoal. Finally, the holiday tree for the city of Federal Way features prominently, within a raised planter bed of Mutual Materials Manorstone® retaining wall block.
Town Square Park is a terrific example of urban planning to maximize a variety of park entertainment areas in the city limits.
