Garden Wars is an entertainment staple of Seattle’s annual Northwest Flower and Garden Show. This audience participation gardening competition pits teams of local television and radio personalities against one another, and the clock, to see who can create the best raised garden bed.
Mutual Materials is once again a proud sponsor making the Garden Wars happen at the Northwest Flower and Garden show. As an event sponsor, we donate the stones for creating the raised garden beds and other stone hardscape element such as pavers for paths and rockery. For the 2016 Garden Wars, the planter boxes were built using our Tuscan Stone blocks.
Inspired by popular reality-based competitions including “Junk Wars” and “Iron Chef,” the fast-paced event has two teams racing to fill identical stone-walled garden beds with plantings and decor of their choice. A professional commentator, a garden advisor and the studio audience all engage to help cheer on the teams, offer advice and finally to choose the winning gardens.
