Luxe Magazine, Outdoor Living Trends & Products

With summer just around the corner, many of us in the Pacific Northwest look to our yards and fantasize about landscaping improvements. Enjoying the summer season in the company of friends or family at a backyard barbecue, sitting around a fire pit, planting a beautiful raised garden bed, or relaxing in an outdoor living room are just a few of the ways people enjoy outdoor living in this region.

Luxe magazine recently ran a special section on Outdoor Living in their Pacific Northwest edition, looking at trends and products for outdoor living spaces. Mutual Materials is pleased to be included and below is an excerpt:

Luxe magazaine PNW Outdoor Living May June 2016“Mutual Materials is dedicated to the Pacific Northwest,” says president Kendall Anderegg. “We are a local company that is committed to our community.” What began as a humble brick plant in Seattle during the 1900s is today the largest supplier of masonry and hardscape products in the region. The choice of designers, architects, home builders and homeowners alike, Mutual Materials offers everything from bricks to pavers, retaining wall blocks and natural stone.

“What is inspiring is the ability to create multiple destinations in a landscape,” Anderegg says. “Today’s hardscape provides diversity in the number of outdoor living projects possible. From patios, terraced gardens and winding stone paths to raised gardens, fireside chat spaces and a private reading oasis, outdoor living is moving beyond the immediate backyard.”

Well-designed outdoor spaces are inviting and deliver on their intended use with style. What begins with a foundational element, such as a stone patio, has the potential to become any designer entertainment area, depending on the décor and functional elements added.

Two Trending Projects
1. Outdoor kitchens and living rooms. Moving beyond simple built-in grills to design luxury living rooms and entertainment spaces.
2. Creating multiple private outdoor destinations in a landscape, such as relaxation nooks, fire pits or small gardens connected by paths.

We’re glad to have the opportunity to share our story with Luxe magazine in their Outdoor Living section.  At Mutual Materials, we are proud that our products help people build outdoor living areas and with beautiful landscape features that stand the test of time.  We hope that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy terrific outdoor living moments in their own backyards.  Enjoy the season!
