Permeable Parking Lot Wins a Hammer Award

Congratulations to Fairwinds Development, who recently won a Hammer Award in the Small Business category from the Master Builders Association Built Green program.

Through the use of Eco-Priora permeable pavers from Mutual Materials, Fairwinds was able to reduce stormwater runoff from residential parking area at the first phase of their Eltovar townhomes in north Seattle. Even though the area is small (roughly 600 square feet), the pavers still function properly filtering runoff directly into the base, rather than storm drains.

Because of this touch of green, Fairwinds won a Hammer Award in the Small Business category from the Master Builders Association Built Green program who noted, “As there is a stronger emphasis to make our projects more environmentally friendly, Fairwinds serves as an example of how even minor design adjustments can make an impact.”
