GMC Landscapes display garden at the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival with Holland Pavers

Seattle, WA – February 14-18, 2023 – The 2023 Northwest Flower & Garden Festival just wrapped up and it was a wild success! With its highest turnout in eight years, with almost 60,000 people attending. Taking place at the Seattle Convention Center, the show had over 35 display gardens, 90 free seminars, and over 400 exhibitors in the garden marketplace. This annual event is the best opportunity to gather inspiration and ideas for both seasoned gardners and those who just like digging in the dirt.

We were excited to once again, be a show sponsor because it gives Mutual Materials the opportunity to connect with our customers, both contractors and consumers. The display gardens are always the biggest hit with attendees, and we were able to provide retaining wall blocks, concrete pavers, architectural slabs, and natural stone to 15 local designers so they could incorporate these products into their designs. It’s exciting to help these designers show off their creativity and give people ideas on how our products can help them with their home projects as well.

GMC Landscapes was this year’s winner for Best Use of Hardscapes in their display, “Summer Time Vibes”. This backyard display featured both a pond and a fireplace that was designed to be both family and pet-friendly. GMC Landscapes used our Holland pavers in the entrance and bordered the entire garden with TuscanStone retaining wall blocks.

The winner of the Founder’s Cup (Best in Show) was Redwood Builders, LLC, Landscaping for their garden, “Afterglow”. Inspired by recent forest fires, this garden was created as a reminder that beautiful things come from destruction. Redwood Builders incorporated our Vancouver Bay 24×24 architectural slabs into their patio and our TuscanStone retaining walls capped with coping units as a border. Congratulations to these two winners and all other participants at this year’s show.

For garden designers and builders (the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival) is part promotion of their brand and part “Great British Baking Show”. It’s where winning awards can validate a career. Involvement in the festival is a rite of passage for industry veterans. It is a year round discussion within the industry.

We also had our booth at the show, where we showcased our Columbia Smooth pavers, ManorStone Elite retaining wall, and StackStone fire pit. This allowed attendees to touch and fell our products and ask questions of our hardscape experts. Hopefully you were able to stop by and check it out.
